Magnetically snaps onto a disposable flex patch, sitting securely over the medial gastrocnemius and tibialis anterior. Designed to stay in place through full practice load — sweat-resistant and USB-C rechargeable.

Three-Pod Architecture

One ankle hub.
Two muscle nodes.

Each athlete wears three devices simultaneously. The two Muscle Pods stream raw EMG over ESP-NOW to the Ankle Pod hub, which fuses neuromuscular timing data with three-axis kinematics and relays a composite signal to the coaching iPad over BLE.

No setup beyond applying the disposable electrode patches, snapping the pod on, and securing the ankle strap.

Ankle Pod — Hub
Receives muscle data from both muscle pods. Transmits graphs and real-time data to coach app via Bluetooth.
Muscle Pod × 2 — Nodes
Four-electrode colinear array with magnetic snap attachment. Tracks muscle signal activity and transmits to Ankle Pod for algorithm calculations.
Flex Patch — Disposable
Single-use electrode flex patches array. Uses medical adhesive material and sweat-resistant. One per session.

The signals

Every metric MackRun generates is a direct physiological indicator — not a proxy, not an inference from accelerometer noise. Real neuromuscular data, captured at clinical resolution, during live practice.

Conduction Velocity
Motor unit firing speed along the muscle fiber. Decreases measurably with fatigue before any performance decline is visible externally.
PAI ms
Pre-Activation Index
Time between EMG onset and the corresponding ankle acceleration event. Quantifies neuromuscular readiness — a primary Achilles injury risk marker.
MF Hz
Median Frequency
EMG spectral centroid. Shifts leftward with muscle fatigue. Tracked per-channel across both the gastrocnemius and tibialis anterior.

Ankle Kinematics
3-axis accelerometer and 3-axis gyroscope at 416Hz. Gait pattern, stride symmetry, impact force estimation, and joint loading.

Bilateral Asymmetry
EMG amplitude and timing differences between the medial gastrocnemius and tibialis anterior. Compensation patterns appear before pain does.

Return-to-Play Score
Composite neuromuscular readiness index derived from conduction velocity, pre-activation index, and bilateral symmetry. Objective clearance data.
Game-Day Workflow

01 — PREP
Patch application
Equipment staff applies disposable flex patches to target muscles. Peel, press, done. No conductive gel, no skin prep beyond a quick wipe.
02 — ATTACH
Pod snap-on
Rigid pod snaps magnetically onto the flex patch. N52 magnets self-align the unit. Pogo pins make contact. System boots automatically on motion detection.
03 — MONITOR
Live coaching view
Coach iPad connects over BLE. Real-time fatigue index, asymmetry flags, and conduction velocity trends update per stride. Actionable during practice.
04 — RECOVER
Post-session analysis
Pods return to the dock. Flex patches are discarded. Full session data syncs to the platform. Return-to-play scores generated overnight.

We built MackRun to make muscle fiber conduction velocity measurable during live athletic activity for the first time. Every component — from the 24-bit analog front end to the disposable electrode patch to the coach-facing application — was designed around one question: what does the athlete's nervous system know that the coaching staff doesn't?
